WONDERFUL VINTAGE PANTRY BAK-IN WARE, COTTAGE DESIGN, CROOKSVILLE POTTERY MIXING BOWL. What a great looking piece of pottery. A perfect size for so many uses. Soft, pale white clay with a clear, high gloss glazing. Classic Retro style and design. Unusual ribbed band designs, molded into the clay. Red stripe around the top edge of the bowl. Country cottage transfer ware designs around the sides of the bowl. The classic style and design of the bowl is reminiscent of pottery produced in the 1940's-1960's, by such makers as Robinson Ransbottom, McCoy and Haeger. Crooksville Pottery began production in 1902, flourished thru the Great Depression and even the war, but unfortunately went out of business, closing their doors in 1959. The mixing bowl is in very good vintage condition, minimal surface ware, free of chips or cracks, as shown in the photos. It measures about 8 1/4" in diameter at the top, stands 5" tall. This beautiful piece of pottery is ink stamp marked on the bottom, "PANTRY BAK-IN WARE BY CROOKSVILLE". From the Ohio Valley area, very soft off white colored clay would typically be of that region.
