WONDERFUL PAIR OF VERY UNUSUAL VINTAGE CARDBOARD, PAPER MICA GLITTER COVERED CHRISTMAS VILLAGE PUTZ HOUSES. Perfect for your your Christmas Village, Nativity, Putz or Model Railroad, under the tree. Both houses have a small metal loop at the top, so they can also be used as a Christmas Tree ornaments if you wish. Christmas village decorations such as these, were sold in the local five and dime stores, from small towns to large metro cities after WWII, when exports from Japan to the U.S. began again. This was the "Golden Age" of Christmas Holiday decoration, 1940's-1960's. Beautiful detailing and coloration. Unusual pitched roof design. Heavy mica snow glitter covers the roofs, fronts, and sides of the houses, textured Venetian Dew mica covers the bases, for a beautiful, wintery snow effect. The village putz houses are in very good vintage condition, as shown in the photos. Cellophane door, windows and paper door are there. They have the original holes in the back to insert a small size light, which is what we have done, to show the lovely glow of Christmases past thru the windows and door. The little houses measures about 2 7/8" wide, 2" tall, and 1 3/4" deep. They are ink stamped on the bottom, "MADE IN JAPAN".
