WONDERFUL, VERY UNUSUAL VINTAGE CARDBOARD, PAPER MICA GLITTER COVERED CHRISTMAS VILLAGE PUTZ CHURCH. Perfect for your your Christmas Village, Nativity, Putz or Model Railroad, under the tree. Christmas village decorations such as these, were sold in the local five and dime stores, from small towns to large metro cities after WWII, when exports from Japan to the U.S. began again. This was the "Golden Age" of Christmas Holiday decoration, 1940's-1960's. Beautiful detailing and coloration. Unusual double pitched roof design. Tall bell tower to the side. Heavy mica snow glitter covers the front, base, roof and sides of the building, for a beautiful, wintery snow effect. Large lichen tree is secure to the base. The village putz church is in very good vintage condition, as shown in the photos. Stain glass design cellophane front and tower windows, and cross above the front entry area, are there and intact. It has the original hole in the back to insert a small size light, which is what we have done, to show the lovely glow of Christmases past thru the windows and door. The large scale church measures about 6" wide, 3 3/4" tall, and 3" deep. It has the original ink stamp on the bottom, "MADE IN JAPAN".
