WONDERFUL VINTAGE HARD PLASTIC, SANTA'S ELF CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT. What a great old Christmas Holiday decoration. Many companies produced a full line of hard plastic Christmas Holiday ornaments, figurines, decorations and novelty items during the 1940's-1960's, such as Irwin, Bradford, and Rosen. It was considered the "Golden Age" of hard plastic Holiday decorations for pieces such as these. Sold in the local five and dime stores, from small towns to large metro cities after WWII, when exports from Japan, Hong Kong, Czechoslovakia, and Germany to the U.S. began again. What a cool piece. He has a wicked little look in his eyes, holding a toy horse under one arm, a baby doll in his other hand. Pointy ears and very pointy shoes. He is in very good vintage condition, hanger loop intact, looks like the little feather in his cap was nicked down, as shown in the photos. He is free standing, so he can also be used in your Christmas Village or Putz. He measures about 3 1/2"tall.
