WONDERFUL PAIR OF VINTAGE PORCELAIN, SANTA AND MRS. CLAUS CHRISTMAS TOOTHPICK HOLDERS. What great old Christmas Holiday decorations. Many ceramic companies produced a full line of Holiday, Birthday, Angel and Santa figurines during this time period. Christmas ceramic and porcelain figurines such as these, were sold in the local five and dime stores, from small towns to large metro cities after WWII, when exports from Japan began and trade was established again with the U.S. That would have been late 1940's, into the 1950's....the "Golden Age" of Christmas ceramics. Rich, vibrant coloration. Beautiful detailing into the cast porcelain molds. Mr. and Mrs. Claus both hold large open sacks in front of them. They would make great little toothpick holders, cigarette holders, or use as them as candy containers. Santa and Mrs. Claus are in very good vintage condition, free of chips or cracks, as shown in the photos. They measures 3 3/4" tall. There is no country of origin noted, but has an ink stamp on the bottom, "299". For more information and history on vintage Christmas items, visit The Golden Glow of Christmas Past web site. What a great addition for your Christmas Holiday, Santa Claus collection!!!!!
